Nana Osei Kofi, Chief of Sabin Akrofrom, in the Atwima Kwanwoma District of the Ashanti Region has commended Amass Ghana for organizing a Peace and Security workshop for bodybuilder in Ashanti region ahead of the December 7, polls. He said Amass Ghana has hit the nail right on the head thereby targeting macho men at the crucial minute.
He lauded the organization for playing part in making sure that peace is maintained in Ghana. “Your contribution to peace has never gone unnoticed, so keep doing what you do best” he charged.
Nana Osei Kofi however cautioned bodybuilders to not allow themselves to be used by politicians to cause violence in the forthcoming general elections The Chief gave the admonition during a peace and security workshop, organized by Amass Ghana, for body builders in the Ashanti Region.
He said that for some time now politicians have taken the rights and lives of bodybuilders for granted, using them to perpetrate mayhem during elections, especially for the snatching of ballot boxes, and cautioned that it is time for them to change and refrain from the negative image.
Nana Osei Kofi also cautioned the public, especially identifiable groups, and charged the Christian Council of Churches, Muslim community and traditional authorities to promote peace and unity among their people, before, during and after the polls.
Mr. Kofi Asamoah-Ababio, President of Amass Ghana, also stated that it was incumbent on every peace-loving citizen to ensure that there is peace, before, during and after this year’s elections.
He noted that bodybuilders play a significant role when it comes to violence-free elections, and urged them to get involved in the campaign against election violence.
